Gefsinus is one of the largest systematic catering companies operating in Greece. Gefsinus covers the food needs of industrial units, service companies, hospitals, military sites, educational organizations and other places where catering needs exist. Our vision is to offer daily the best, safest and of highest quality tasting experience in Greece. Over the years, our relationship with the customer always remains “warm” and “strong”. The ideas, the behavior and the overall presence of our people, are a guarantee for our competitiveness and reliability, aiming at the continuous improvement of services and products offered, harmonizing with the trends and the market.

Gefsinus is a Greek company, which was founded in 1992 in Rethymno, Crete. In 2007 it acquires Sodexo Alliance Hellas and starts its production activity at its facilities in K.Kifissia, Attica. In 2018, it moves to a state-of-the-art production facilities in Kryoneri, Attica, with a total area of ​​10,000 sq.m. The operation of these facilities is 24 hours, while the capacity reaches 12,000,000 hot and cold meals. It also has a Vegetable Processing Unit equipped with the most technologically advanced and safe machines in the industry, while an electronic Internet of Things control system is implemented to ensure optimal operation. A complete waste management program based on respect for the environment is also implemented. The company has a total of about 1,200 employees.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Gefsinus implements practices based on the continuous commitment of our company for ethical behavior and its contribution to economic development, while improving the quality of life of both its human resources and the local communities and society in general. We consider investing in our people a necessary condition for our success and with a strong human-centered character. Gefsinus through initiatives, solutions and acts of responsibility aims to improve the quality of life of all.

The application of the principles of sustainable development with rational use of natural resources, control of energy and water consumption to reduce the carbon footprint is proven by actions such as:

  • Recycling of plastic, metal and paper materials. The recycling of paper packaging exceeds 90%
  • Organic waste management with company’s composting system
  • Renewal of the entire corporate fleet of electric vehicles by the end of 2023
  • Installation of photovoltaic roof systems for energy autonomy with a production capacity of 600KWp Net Metering
  • Use of natural gas in our trucks and facilities to reduce emissions
  • Lighting with led panel and motion sensors for energy saving
  • Production Unit Cleaning with water consumption control system and waste dehydration system to reduce waste’s volume and weight
  • Training and awareness of staff in sustainable development

Gefsinus, being an active part of the social environment in which it operates, aims to have its activities have a positive interaction in it. The humanitarian consciousness of Gefsinus is proven through conscious actions,  with a sense of collectivity and solidarity in many NGOs but also public benefit organizations such as:

  • Provide thousands of portions of food every year pro bono
  • Model National Kindergarten of Kallithea with daily coverage of feeding needs for over 10 years
  • Doctors Without Borders with significant donations
  • WWF Hellas in collaboration with which a guide was created in 2021 to reducing food waste for food businesses, accessible to the general public.
